Update: Has Guests 2.0 is now live for improved accuracy!

The “Has Guests” field helps you identify whether a podcast typically features guest appearances. This is especially useful for outreach planning, understanding podcast formats, and filtering shows based on style.

What Does “Has Guests” Mean?

This is a simple yes/no flag:

  • Has Guests – The podcast regularly features guests.

  • Unlikely to Have Guests – The podcast generally does not include guest interviews or appearances.

It does not mean the show is open to guest pitches. It’s strictly an observation based on actual episodes, not an editorial recommendation or an invitation.

How Is It Determined?

We use a combination of Podchaser's moderated guest credits and our own AI-powered detection system that analyzes each episode and decides whether a podcast should be marked as having guests.

Here’s how it works:

  • 🧠 Guest Credit Integration – We incorporate Podchaser’s own moderated guest credits to validate the presence of guests.

  • 🔍 Episode Analysis – We use large language models (LLMs) to analyze episode metadata to detect guest appearances.

  • 📊 Smart Logic – We apply a hybrid classification system that checks for both frequency and recency for improved accuracy.

  • 🔁 Continuous Updates – The data refreshes regularly, so new guest appearances are picked up quickly.

Where You’ll See It

You can find the “Has Guests” field:

  • In Podchaser Pro search filters

  • On podcast profile pages in Pro

  • In exports and reporting tools

  • In the API under the has_guests field

Common Questions

Q: Does “Has Guests” mean the show is accepting guest pitches?

Not necessarily. It just means the show has featured guests in the past. It doesn’t imply anything about their current guest booking policy.

Q: A podcast I know has guests is marked as “No.” What gives?

The model might not detect enough recent guest episodes or may lack sufficient guest credits to confidently say the podcast has guests. If you believe it’s incorrect, let us know.

Q: Can I rely on this for client targeting?

It’s a great starting point, especially at scale, but always double-check high-value targets before outreach.

Q: Where can I report bugs or inaccuracies?
